The IISU Theatrical Society of the IIS University under the guidance of  performed the  archetype of all nukkad nataks  ‘SASHAKT’ at Jawahar Kala Kendra on the 3^rd day i.e.17^th December, 2018 of the esteemed and the biggest theatre festival of Jaipur – ‘JAIRANGAM’18 at 6 pm in the evening.

Sashakt is the epitome of self empowerment. It is one of the most successful and powerful nukkads created at The IIS University that depicts the struggles that are faced by women in the present era and advises them to embolden their spirits and face their troubles head on without expecting any external aid or sustenance.

With its melodious jingles, the apt use of Shiv Tandav Stortam, uniquely choreographed dance moves and very moving and poignant yet prevailing themes that is so exclusively illustrated, Sashakt aims at informing the people and emphasizing on the fact that women are not weak and cannot be subdued by generations of all prevailing patriarchy if they believe in themselves and have the courage and the encouragement to stand up for themselves.

It was a wonderful opportunity given to us to perform at such an elevated and well known platform and we are grateful for it.

The team consisted of 16 members comprising of students from the 1^st,2^nd and 3^rd year of the college.

The nukkad garnered praise from the audience with people stating that they were left spellbound and captivated while watching it and the performance forced them to re – think the maladies affecting  the society today, the consequences of actions and the remedies for these afflictions.
