KHOL DO: Annual Play at Ravindra Manch

The Theater society of IIS university organised their annual play on 29th November 2014 ,directed by Mr. Kuljeet Singh and assisted by Mr. Vivek Sharma , the story of the play was inspired from Saadat hanas manto's story 'KHOL DO'. The plot of the play constructed the intensity of gang rapes and sexual violence against women at the time of partition and today's era.

The play started with lamp lighting ceremony and pooja by Vice Chancellor Dr. Ashok Gupta and rectar and registrar Dr. Rakhi Gupta  . The play was inagurated by Mr. Arun Chaturvedi, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister. 
The play began with the narration of the story followed by a sand art regarding Delhi rape case and contemporary dance. It also featured footage of partition and string of newsclips , Assaram bapu , Mullayam Singh and Khap panchayat .
Few highlights of the play were dance performance, 2 Sakina's on the same platform, one facing towards audience and another lying on the floor. 
The play concluded with girls sharing real stories of sexual assault and a video 'why world hates women' . The production was a result of 30 days workshop conducted by the University's theatre group which was attended by 40 girls.The show had more than 300 people as audience and a large media coverage.
The guest of honor, Mr. Arun Chaturvedi appreciated the efforts and theme of the whole production team and distributed their certificate and memento to them.
