Week 1 and Week 2

The first week went off in a flash. Students learning activities were topped with fun and exercises, such as:

  • Ice Breaking & Warming Up Exercises:

Physical theatre exercises, meditation and breathing exercises for energizing the mind & body.

To make the amateur artists more focused, alert and observant

TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES

Involving games like dog-in-the-bone, chain game, etc to help members realise the power of team effort

  2. Realise the potential of fellow members
  3. Make the team stand out with devoted individual performances

SPEECH EXERCISES

Tongue twisters and story making exercises to work on speech and creativity

 

To polish voice throw & clarity, modulation and intonation

EXPRESSION AND BODY LANGUAGE

Understanding "Abinay"

Aangik Abhinay (expressing through body), Vaachik Abhinay(expressing through speech), Aaharya Abhinay (using facial expressions)

 

To learn the effective use of the body, facial expressions & voice and thus shape a complete artist out of the student

  • PRESENTATION

At the end of each day, the members were divided into groups and made to perform acts on different topics.

LEARNING:

This gives students a chance to not only show creativity in the theme of the act but also the script and dialogues, which is the real the stage presentation.

Constructive feedback from the teacher artists and the opposite team help in rectifying the basic errors like falling off the stage, stage coverage, voice overlapping, lack of clarity and co-ordination.
