2nd July, 2017 was when every IISU theatre enthusiast was looking forward to be a part of the fun-filled 10 day nukkad workshop. Ms Ruchi Bhargava, a theatre artist, kathak dancer and a choreographer was called upon to train the students of the IIS University and groom them to perform a nukkad natak. She has worked in almost 75 productions and has performed in more than 500 shows in cities like- Jaipur, Delhi, Bikaner, Udaipur, Alwar to name a few.
The University holds the nukkad natak workshop every year and this time as well it gave the students an opportunity to explore themselves. It widened the horizons for amazing actors to showcase their talent once again in the college campus and take a dig into colossal aspects of theatre. With various activity sessions they gained a tremendous boost to confidence and learnt how to maintain keep audience captivated. Miss Ruchi gave them a learning experience in a playful manner. She proved to be a great mentor.
At the end of the workshop on 14th August, 2017, the participants showcased a nukkad natak ‘Meri Marzi’ on marital rape in the university campus which received much appreciation and admiration. The students worked hard to put up a great show and bagged themselves with memories and an experience to look back upon. Besides acting, they brushed up their skills in script writing, co-ordinating and composing. All in all the workshop was a complete package of learning experience.
